Today is my first day writing about my life after what Covid had done to my body. I was admitted to the hospital on the 7th of November due to Covid related ARDS. I was put on the ventilator due to my oxygen being at 66%. The high 90's are healthy lungs. I was heavily sedated and in a coma till the 12th.

In the ICU, I was able to video chat my mom. I don't remember this but when I woke up I asked for my mom. She had told me that we video chatted for 8 hours one day. I remember staring off into space because my mind was so foggy from the sedation. Being in the ICU was the worst, I was uncomfortable and bored. Nurses walked by a large sliding glass door a lot. I was moved out of the ICU on the 16th to my own private room. Once I settled in, it was much more comfortable. I couldn't have visitors because of Covid but my mom was able to drop off some of my electronics and personal items. I was finally able to talk to my significant other, who I missed, and ask him what had happened leading up to my arrival. Thursday the 18th, I heard news from my mom that I might be going to a rehab hospital after I get released from the current hospital I was at. My mind got less foggy as the days moved on. I felt weak, this wasn't normal. Everyday got easier for me to get out of bed and walk around. While in the hospital, I had three therapies: speech, occupational, and physical. All three therapies I had during my stay went well. Every time the therapists came to see me, I improved physically and mentally. On Sunday the 21st, speech therapy dismissed me since I was doing so well. Time went by pretty quickly in the hospital, I texted lots of people to keep them updated and I video chatted my family and close friends. Soon enough, it was Monday the 22nd. This was a very big day for me because I was getting out of jail; this is a joke between my father and I. I was able to go HOME! In the morning, the doctor did an oxygen evaluation to see if I needed oxygen at home. We found out fairly quickly that my lungs did need the support. I didn't know an exact time I was going to be released but we knew it would be sometime in the evening. We had to wait for oxygen to be delivered to the hospital and to the house. It was 4pm and I was still not released. I was getting impatient. My oxygen got delivered around this time. The nurses helped me get all my things ready to go. This was also the time that my significant other was on his way to pick me up. It felt nice to get out of the hospital gowns I was wearing those two weeks and into my own clothes. Finally, it was time to get in the wheel chair to wheel me out of jail.
